We transformed a former council office into two spacious houses with new basements. A supporting steel structure preserved the original front façade while we demolished, excavated and rebuilt behind it.

A dormer loft conversion can add usable headroom, while a hip to gable loft conversion changes a sloping side of the roof. A rooflight conversion works within the existing roof shape. The right option depends on your property, available height, staircase access and planning constraints.
Do I need planning permission for an attic conversion?
Some attic conversions can fall under permitted development, but there are limits and conditions. A dormer extension, a flat, a listed building or a property in a conservation area may need a different approach. Check the position for your property with your local council before work begins.
